Pain Management CUE for Transformation: Preventing Chronic Pain and the Opioid Crisis – “Connect, Understand, Engage”
CUE is designed to provide necessary skills to change the conversation around chronic pain management, by Connecting with the patient, creating a deeper Understanding of his/her overall health and then Engaging the patient in non-opioid alternatives (CUE). Participants will practice skills to create trust, compassion, and patient empowerment leading to a successful and sustainable non-opioid pain management approach. The course is led by faculty from the Institute of Healthcare Excellence.
Participants learn clear, effective communication, shared decision-making, and patient-centered care techniques to create a culture of trust, compassion, patient empowerment, and excellence in pain management.
The Institute for Healthcare Excellence (IHE) in partnership with the International Myopain Society (IMS) co-created this course with the core initiative to improve healthcare quality and safety. Transformative care includes both training and treatment of patients to achieve long-term success and patient satisfaction while enhancing the joy and resiliency of clinical practice.
